Dementia Research Day: Tell Us Your Story

Dementia Research Day: how can we improve hospital care for people living with dementia?
Thursday 8th February, Marriott Hotel, Cardiff

Calling all people living with dementia and their family carers- we need your help to improve our research

We would love to tell you more about our research, which is all about improving the quality of care people living with dementia and their families experience in hospital. We believe this must be a research priority.

We need your help to make sure that our research responds to and meets the needs of people living with dementia and their families when they need to be in hospital. We are interested in hearing your experiences and opinions on: communication with ward staff, mealtimes and hydration, mobility and rehabilitation, continence care, choice and decision-making, stigma and invisibility, and the involvement of families and discharge. This is an opportunity for you to set the research agenda.

We want you to have a say and tell us about your experiences in hospital. There will also be opportunities to talk to our film crew who will be there to record your stories to reach a wider audience and raise awareness about the importance of improving care people living with dementia receive in hospitals.

About the day

As well as telling us about your experiences and sharing your stories, there will be music provided by the Arianne String Quartet and arts workshops for you to get involved in throughout the day.
