The circle of life

Renee described how inside the image of a nautilus shell she selected ‘all is tight and safe, like a new-born and… as life goes on you come out of your shell’, the beads above depict this, ‘unravelling’, and ‘as life comes to an end you can feel very on your own’. These beads also represent tactile comfort within anxiety, as elderly people with dementia often like to handle beads – and how this ‘brings us all back to the pearl in the shell of childhood - from where we all came’.
